Take away from visiting speaker

The speaker today talks about the idea of design thinking, specifying the area of service design, which means visualize the solutions of service problems. I found the method that she is talking about quite similar to the logic behind UX design. However, it is actually similar or somehow the same as they are about the way of thinking. She explained same stages of the process including doing design research, prototyping the solution and making them visualized. One essential thing in the design thinking is about being empathetic of others, of the experience of the users. This is quite different from the artists’ approach, as artists are more about creating the work for self-expression and giving out the voice, while designers are more about meeting others’ needs.
